Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #450

Messy Messy Fail - Lately it just seems like there are too many projects around the house and just not enough time.  I want to get this house cleaned up before Halloween next Monday, but will it happen?

Tidy Victory - I had read multiple reports claiming that if you fold your laundry and put it into your drawers like files (vertical) instead of piles, you have more room and it's better.  By golly that AIN'T NO LIE!

Messy Messy Fail - Ok so I guess publishing the link parties late is just my new MO.

Tidy Victory - Wait until you see tomorrow's party :D

Messy Messy Fail - Late again.

Tidy Victory - Off I go - at 1:30 in the morning! :D

Messy Messy Fail - I'm watching gardening on youtube.com while I type this - MAN do I feel inadequate right now!  I definitely let a lot of the gardens go this summer, but that's the season that I'm in.

Tidy Victory - We just had Hannah's first birthday party and it was a great success! I had a sunflower themed party to celebrate our little ray of sunshine.

Messy Messy Fail - We are doing a lot of camping these last few weekends of September but it's our first time out this year!  I have a packing list in my head that usually occurs in May or June, but that never happened.  So how many items do you think I forgot?  A lot!  Thanks to family for saving the day!

Tidy Victory - I was able to purchase a very inexpensive money plant at the beginning of the summer and it created so many babies!  I separated them, put them in their own little pots, and now I have a ton of plants!  It's good luck to give them to others, so that's what I'm going to do!

Messy Messy Fail - Currently in our freezer sits a block of ice where ice cubes should be.  Nothing is more frustrating than a block of ice in your ice cube tray.

Tidy Victory - I've cheaply purchased and been gifted so many plants as we are getting to the end of the growing season.  I even went to a greenhouse and they GAVE ME plants to take for free because they just wanted them gone (and they were a bit crispy but they've made a recovery!). My favorite is a GORGEOUS red hardy hibiscus that I am going to plant in my side tidy garden (although there is not anything tidy about that particular bed right now).

Messy Messy Fail - Remembered to get the car registered, still haven't had it inspected.

Tidy Victory - Stella is doing better and better with her house training every day!  The inside accidents are suddenly getting fewer and far between.  We did try putting some jingle bells on the sliding glass door to teach her to ring them to go outside, although that has still not been terribly successful yet.

Messy Messy Fail - Not even sure how this happened but I currently have a nasty rash underneath both of my eyes.  Maybe I was gardening and rubbed my eyes?  Either way, it needs to heal up STAT!

Tidy Victory - It's amazing what a few cans of spray paint can do - I had a tray I used in the living room, odd not so attractive colors.  Two applications of flat matte white spray paint and we are back in business!

Messy Messy Fail - How did the summer go so fast?  There are always so many things I want to do, and I barely got to any of them.

Tidy Victory - We have had our sweet Stella puppy for a little over a month and we just love her.  She still has her accidents in the house but she's continuing to get better every day.  The kids love her (except when she continually tries to jump up into their laps) and she's been a joy to have.  Need some happiness in your life?  Rescue a dog!

Messy Messy Fail - In an effort to save money this summer (and because I didn't see any that I liked), I tried to put together my own hanging baskets for the front porch.  It's a very shaded area so there's a limited amount of flowers that will do well.  The first set of impatiens I planted in the baskets ended up turning very yellow, aka too much water and not enough light.  The second attempt I used new guinea impatiens that were on sale, but I think I must have missed watering a few of the containers because they somewhat dried out before I even got them in the planters.  So long story short - I wasted two sets of hanging baskets.  Bravo.

Tidy Victory - Our pumpkin patch is doing FANTASTIC this year.  So far we have TONS of large Connecticut field pumpkins, pink pumpkins, hubbard squash, some gourds and bunch of other varieties that I just don't know the name of.  Oh - and blue/green pumpkin.  Love it!

Messy Messy Fail - I love borrowing from the library so much and the library loves me.  I think I am funding the addition they are building with all of my late fees.

Tidy Victory - Regardless of my tardiness, I haven't read this many books in the last year that in the last 10 years.  Definitely a tidy victory because reading is the best!

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #439

Messy Messy Fail - Remember last summer when I saw so excited about the dahlias I had planted, how easy it was, how gorgeous they were, etc.  I said "I will never not plant these, so easy!"  I never planted them.

Tidy Victory - Until this past Thursday!  It's actually ok, they will still bloom beautifully in the fall, but why I procrastinate on such easy things is beyond me.
