Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #239

Messy Messy Fail - A big and quick storm blew threw on Friday night and took down what remained of a partially dead willow and about 4 trees in a line behind the willow.  I guess mother nature was ready to do some pruning for fall.

Tidy Victory - Im determined to plan mums in ground so that they return next fall.  I've never successfully been able to do it, but perhaps this is my year!  I got these pretty little plants for $1 at Walmart - wish me luck!

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #238

Messy Messy Fail - We officially only have one pumpkin growing in the garden - one pumpkin for two kids does not a happy mom make.  I was praying that another would start up at some point but I have yet to see any new growth.

Tidy Victory - Our first full week at our new elementary school for both boys was great!  They both love their teachers so much, and we've been getting plenty of helpful information sent home about behavior, learning topics and such.  A household is much happier when school is going smoothly!

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #237

Messy Messy Fail - So perhaps you recall the pretty glass birdbath I purchased at Wegmans at the beginning of the summer, on clearance I believe.  Well it did end up knocking over a few times, but we had a little wind storm the other day and it fell over onto a rock.  I just let the pieces lie in the garden for a mosaic effect.  Note to self - no more glass birdbaths.

Tidy Victory - I finally found some astilbe at a great price $5 a pot - to plant on the shady side of the house.  If you aren't familiar, astilbe is a beautiful perennial that produces tall feather-like blooms in an array of colors.  It does well in shade which is exactly what I was looking for!

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #236

Messy Messy Fail - We went to see Dave Matthews Band play at The Gorge in Washington over the weekend.  Truly my husband planned the whole trip - bought the concert tickets, plane tickets, our camping gear (yes we tent camped)......my one job was to bring beer coozies.  Guess what I forgot to bring :)

Tidy Victory - I am literally picking my fantasy football team as I type this - I think I did okay this year but we'll see!  Anyone else out there play in a fantasy league?  So much fun!
