Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #255

Messy Messy Fail - It was a "snowpocalypse" at Starry Acres Friday morning, so much that I was seriously concerned about making it to work.  Nevertheless, as soon as I got to the bottom of the hill - blue skies and tweeting birds.  There must have been a snow band parked directly above our house!

Tidy Victory - We've made it to the weekend and are ready to relax.  For a short weekend with Monday off and a snowday, this still somehow felt like a really long week!  In other news, I have MariKondo'ed almost all of the drawers in my bedroom chest and I'll tell you - it IS life changing.  Don't know what it is?  Google it and be blown away!

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #254

Messy Messy Fail - The UPK'er got a Smithsonian Triop Growing Kit for Christmas - basically the sea monkeys we remember but a tad bit crazier looking.  I followed all the directions but I don't think they were warm enough in the kitchen - no baby triopts to report.  We are going to try again tomorrow only this time, they are going under a lamp!

Tidy Victory - Snowmobile season is here and the trails officially opened up TODAY!  Sleds are running, gear is ready - it's go time baby!

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #253

Messy Messy Fail - I received the Pioneer Woman Instant Pot for Christmas which I LOVE.  However they weren't kidding when they said learning to cook with it had a learning curve - AKA don't mess with the recipes.  It took a few not so good recipes, like really dry chicken alfredo, to figure that out.

Tidy Victory - But now I think we finally have the Instant Pot down and I am ready to roll - be watching my FB page Love My Mess for all of the recipes I am trying out AND their end results!

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #252

Messy Messy Fail - In my attempt to decorate our front porch for the holidays, I found some GIANT plastic Christmas ornaments at Walmart and tied them up with sparkly red ribbon on the hanging basket hooks.  Should have known that with the amount of wind we get, those ornaments would simply smash into each other all night long until they cracked or flew off the hook completely.  Next year, I'll need to find a new vision....

Tidy Victory - 2018 was a HUGE year for donating/getting rid of stuff in our house!  I am very proud of the numerous Salvation Army and Sweet Repeats (a local high-quality children's consignment shop) drop off trips I made - we are talking at least 12!  It makes me happy to know we are making more space in our home for ourselves, getting rid of items we no longer need or use AND the items will go to another good home and not necessarily a landfill!
