Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #375

Messy Messy Fail - I did it again.  Maybe I should just assume it's going to be this way.

Tidy Victory - My middle island garden is actually looking quite spectacular!  It's taken a few years but things are filling in quite nicely and there will be flowers in bloom throughout the season - hooray!

Welcome back everyone to Happiness is Homemade #375!

Each week we have bloggers stop by and share crafts, DIYs, life tips and hacks, home decor ideas, recipes, and many other family friendly posts. You will love all of the wonderful, creativity sparking ideas that are shared in this wonderful link party.

Favorite Features

Before we get to this week's link party, I'd like to share our featured posts that were shared with us this past week. This is my third week of choosing the features, and it does not get any easier to choose only five!

First up Julie from The Farm Life shared with us a great idea for crafters. She created craft go-bags that she can bring with her from day to day so that when she finds herself with a little down-time, she can work on her DIY projects. All of us have those days when we have to go to doctor's appointments, to take our children to practices, or, horror of horrors, to go to the DMV! There's a lot of waiting, so why not utilize that time to be productive but also to pass the time having fun with one of your craft projects packed in a size appropriate bag, all ready to go when you head out the door. Check out her post for further instructions.

This post shared with us by Shelley from Calypso in the Country gives you a tutorial for making a DIY cane wrapped vase. This is a great piece to bring a little summer into your home. It's a quick and easy project, but makes a big impact on your summer home decor. She even made two small votive vases to match!

Memorial Day is coming up, and I love adding patriotic decor to my home. This DIY flag wreath from Ann's Entitled Life is just the ticket. I've made similar ones, and they are so easy to do. If you have French or balcony doors, make one for each door. Add some string lights, a patriotic banner, and some citronella candles and you have the perfect setting for outdoor get-togethers over the summer!

Farmhouse decor is all the rage today, and some of the price tags reflect that! Sarah from Must Have Mom has a solution for that. She bought some thrift store items and upcycled them using her Cricut to have the farmhouse look for less. She shows you how to create adorable signs, a riser, and the cutest flower container from an Ikea bin.

Finally Carol at Comfort Spring Station updated her faux orchid in just minutes. I love plants and flower indoors, but I kill every single one I've ever had. Faux plants can be quite expensive, so when you invest in one you need to be able to keep it around. Carol's had a dated woven basket for the container, and she wanted to update it to a more sleek, modern feel. Check out her post to see how she did just that, and changed the entire look of her side table!
