Messy Messy Fail - One of our 9 chrysalis' that we hatched in our home this fall didn't make it. To be sure there was no chance of survival (the chrysalis was partially black for over a week) we took it outside and performed an autopsy. We promptly said a little prayer and buried it's remains in our side garden next to the butterfly bush.
Tidy Victory - Our other 8 chrysalis' that did hatch were such an absolute joy to care for! We've never done this before and were given great advice from a few friends who do this all summer. It is extremely easy and very rewarding - we highly recommend it if you have monarch's in your area and have access to milkweed (what they eat!). We may even try looking for some other species of caterpillars next summer!
Messy Messy Fail - Even thought this was just a quick trip to Buffalo with the boys this weekend, I forgot SO MANY THINGS! Their toothbrushes, a 2nd day of clothes for Ethan, the baby shower card I had ready to go, and the list goes on. I NEVER forget this many things!
Tidy Victory - I found the coolest old crate in our creepy basement a few weeks ago. I knew I could bring it upstairs and use it somewhere, I just didn't know where. Then I had an idea to use it on our side porch to display some of our fall mums and pumpkins - perfect!
Messy Messy Fail - After we got back from Disney, I managed to get all of the dirty clothes off the top of the suitcases directly into the washing machine. Do you think I ever unpacked the rest of the clean clothes in the suitcases? Heck no!
Tidy Victory - I love decorating the outside of our home for the different seasons and holidays. I managed to get my hay bale, mums and fall decor out last weekend. Halloween decor goes out at the beginning of October.
Messy Messy Fail - First day of school for everyone in the family on Thursday! Boys bags and lunches packed the night before, clothes laid out, phone charged for pictures........guess who forgot to bring her own lunch to work? It was a long, hungry day.
Tidy Victory - I am now ready to decorate for fall at our house - everything will actually be up by the time you read this!
Messy Messy Fail - While at Disney World we had a gracious neighbor come down to watch the house, feed the cats and caterpillars, etc. Unfortunately one of the two monarch caterpillars died so we only have one left.
Tidy Victory - We are still pretty psyched to see the one remaining caterpillar come out of his chrysalis - just waiting patiently! He's been in there around 9 days so hopefully he'll come out!
