Messy Messy Fail - Here's a double whammy - I wanted to make homemade pop tarts for the boys because they love them. I had a recipe for something more like a pastry strudel that I thought they would just love - WRONG! "This isn't flat like a pop tart mommy!" Really?
Tidy Victory - They recipe was still delicious anyways - my husband and I enjoyed eating all of them ourselves the rest of the week. You can thank me later....
Messy Messy Fail - I know I am not the only one who has been complaining about this, but WHY IS MY HOUSE A DISASTER IF I'M ALWAYS HOME?!?!?!?!? So far I have cleaned the breezeway, mudroom and laundry room from top to bottom and YOU'D NEVER KNOW!
Tidy Victory - I started watching a new series on Hulu since we ditched DirecTV and DANG is it good. I definitely think I want to read the book as well, but the Handmaid's Tale is insanely good, albeit depressing. I love a psychologically thrilling show and this one definitely fits the bill!
Messy Messy Fail - Just finished week 4 of quarantine - I thought we had found a nice flow by week 3 but then week 4 sent some curveballs. The balance between teacher and mom is particularly difficult. When I would normally push a student in a classroom setting I have to let up and allow for some space. Tricky, tricky, tricky....
Tidy Victory - I have not cooked this much IN MY LIFE! Don't get me wrong I do enjoy cooking. The usual 2-3 cooked dinners a week is now more like 4-5. At least. But it's fun and for the most part, the household is enjoying it!
Messy Messy Fail - Playing both mom and teacher at home is NOT easy! There have been several moments where I wanted to continue on with consequences in full on teacher-mode but I knew that the end result would not be good considering our circumstances - I have to spend the rest of the night with these kids! I'm going to give myself a little more grace this week and try again.
Tidy Victory - For our spring cleaning list - breezeway, mudroom and laundry room have all been cleaned top to bottom. Next up - the kitchen which we are also going to PAINT!
